Happy Thursday, and welcome back to Tabletop Thoughts!

With Halloween just around the corner, I thought we’d make this month’s Thursday Drop-In a little darker than usual.
This month’s adventure is The Inn With No Morning, a spooky roadside encounter built around a simple question:
What if morning never came?
The party is traveling along a lonely road when a violent storm forces them to seek shelter at a remote inn. Inside, they find a warm fire, a friendly innkeeper, and a handful of fellow travelers. The food is good, the beds are comfortable, and everything seems perfectly normal.
Until they wake up.
It’s still evening. The storm is still raging, and the same guests are sitting around the fire having the same conversations.
Something is very wrong at the Last Lantern Inn.
As the characters begin investigating, they’ll discover that the innkeeper is hiding a terrible secret, the other guests aren’t quite what they seem, and something outside is waiting for morning to arrive.
But here’s the real question: Is the inn keeping the characters trapped, or is it keeping something else out?
The Inn With No Morning is designed as a drop-in adventure for low-level characters, featuring supernatural mystery, creepy encounters, and a few difficult decisions. It’s written for Shadowdark, but should be easy to adapt to just about any fantasy RPG.
It’s a perfect little detour for your party’s next journey, especially if you’re looking to add a bit of Halloween horror to your game.
Just remember, travelers… Some nights are better left unfinished.
Keep on gaming!
