This week’s Thursday Drop-In sends players into the dangerous cliffs and winding roads of Briarthorn Pass, where trade has nearly collapsed under the shadow of a terrifying manticore. Wagons return broken, travelers vanish without a trace, and survivors whisper of a winged beast with a disturbingly human face screaming from above before descending in a storm of claws and spikes. The village leader is desperate for help and offers a generous reward to anyone willing to hunt the creature down.

But like many good monster hunts, things are not quite as simple as they first appear. The Beast on Briarthorn Pass is built around tension, investigation, and difficult choices rather than straightforward combat. Players willing to look beyond the bloodshed may discover there’s more driving the manticore’s attacks than simple hunger. Between dangerous mountain paths, hidden secrets beneath the village, and a monster capable of broken speech and desperate emotion, this Drop-In works best when the creature feels tragic instead of purely evil.
