Happy Wednesday, and welcome back to Tabletop Thoughts!
Yesterday, I spent some quality time at the crafting table, using my airbrush to prep the next batch of miniatures with a smooth zenithal highlight. It’s a technique I really enjoy—the way it quickly defines light and shadow and brings out the sculpted details never gets old. I also decided to record myself while I worked, capturing the process as it came together.
That said, I’m looking to push myself a bit further and start using the airbrush for more than just highlighting. I’d like to incorporate it more into my workflow for base coating and even full miniature painting. In the video, I took a step in that direction by laying down a smooth yellow base coat on the Scuteback Drake from The Printing Goes Ever On’s latest release. It was a great reminder of how efficient and clean airbrushing can be, especially on larger surfaces, and it definitely has me excited to keep experimenting with it. Below is a picture of the progress made on the Drake so far.

While I worked, I also spent some time talking about the miniatures themselves and the hobby as a whole—just enjoying the process and sharing a bit of that creative space.
During the session, I also came up with a fun idea to help grow the YouTube channel. As of this post, I’m currently sitting at 168 subscribers, so I’m getting close to my next milestone. Once I hit 200 subscribers, I’m planning to start printing and painting miniatures on the channel—and then giving them away to viewers. The idea is simple: I’ll record the full painting process for each piece, and if you want to enter the giveaway, all you’ll need to do is leave a comment saying you’re in. That’s it—no hoops to jump through. I’ll even cover the shipping costs to make sure the miniature gets to the winner hassle-free.
Keep on gaming!
