Printer to Table in No Time

09/14/2025

Happy Sunday, and welcome back to Tabletop Thoughts!

Even in a hectic week, I managed to knock out a few projects and get them off the crafting table.

A beholder floats in his claimed dwarven kingdom.

This is an Angry Ball of Eyes from Fat Dragon Games, printed on my Elegoo Neptune 3 Pro FDM printer. I started with a black rattle-can primer, added white drybrushed highlights, and then brought the model to life using a range of India inks. I used a few miniature paints for the eyes and teeth.

A giant centipede roams the dungeon looking for its next meal.

This giant centipede from “Printing Goes Ever On” was printed on my Elegoo Mars 3 resin printer and mounted on a 2-inch wooden base. I primed it black with a rattle can, added a white drybrush highlight, and painted it with Army Painter Speedpaints. A final suede drybrush brought out the definition in the scales.

A fire drake perched on a cliffside.

This drake from The Printing Goes Ever On was printed on my Elegoo Mars 3 resin printer and mounted on a 2″ wooden base, with a stone added to support its raised foot. I primed it black with a rattle can, painted it with red India ink, followed by a black wash, detailed the teeth with bone paint, and finished the eyes with white. The base was completed with dried grass flocking and a small tuft for extra texture.

The remains of a ruined building stand in a field.

These ruined walls were a quick and dirty paint job, just to get them off the table. I printed them on my Elegoo Neptune 3 Pro using black filament, skipped priming, and went straight to a light gray drybrush to pop the details. I finished them by painting the vines green with India ink.

Which elemental would you choose to conjure?

Here are the four elementals I started earlier this week. They’re from BriteMinis and are made to print supportless on an FDM printer. I just went with regular miniature paints and some quick drybrushing to get them table-ready.

Keep on gaming!
