Happy Sunday and welcome back to Tabletop Thoughts!
It has been another busy week, with two jobs and preparations for my daughter’s baby shower. Still, I was able to finish a few models and worked on getting more ready to start the process.

Here are the snake people I started a few weeks ago. I tried a few different color schemes for them. I did a pair with India Inks, a pair with speed paints (green and yellow), and a pair with speed paints (two different greens). I really don’t like the 2 greens on the models. The pair with the spears was the India inks, and I think I like it best. The colors are more vibrant, and it looks more natural. The green and yellow speed paints don’t look bad, just not my favorite.

This month, The Printing Goes Ever On comes out with a collection called Rolling in the Deep. As part of the collection, there was this bulette and this Gibbering Mouther. So I printed them out and got them on bases. I still need to do a little cleanup of the models, then they will be ready for priming and painting. I usually like the creatures more than the characters in the collections, but all of their models are top-notch.

Another model from The Printing Goes Ever On is this troll. He was part of the Cooking Trolls from the Episode 2 – Goblin Den collection. These are the trolls from The Hobbit that turn to stone at daybreak. I love this model. He is bulky enough that I am not afraid to break him with just enough details not to be boring.

Here is an Eye Stalker from Artisan Guild. If you sign up for their newsletter, you get a free model every month from the Vanguard collection. Their models are great and highly details. I love the look of this model. He has a lot of personality.
I also printed out more frog people from two different companies that I like: Brite Minis and EC3D Design.

These are from Brite Minis. The models are designed to be printed supportless on an FDM printer (A bonus for people who don’t want to deal with the mess of a resin printer). They look good and have some details to make them “unique”. You can print out a dozen or so of these models, change the colors a little on their clothes and weapons, and make a quick frog army for your party to encounter.

Here are the models from EC3D Design. These models have a lot more detail, and these would require supports or a resin printer. They could still be printed out in mass to create that frog army, but the painting would be slower to catch all of the little details.
If I were going to make a frog army, I would use the Brite Minis models as the rank and file for the major part of the army, with the EC3D Design models being the “named” NPCs (Leader, lieutenants, caster, etc)
I probably will not get another video out this week since I need to finish up getting the stuff ready for my daughter’s baby shower. This is her 1st pregnancy and she is having twins (one boy, one girl).
Keep on gaming!
That’s a cool/horrifying take on the old Gibbering Mouther

I like it better than the models that came in the D&D boardgames.
