Snakepeople: A Mother’s Day Update

05/11/2025

Happy Mother’s Day and welcome back to Tabletop Thoughts!

This week was focused on getting the snakepeople completed and off the crafting table. I am happy to report that the mission was successful (in part). I finished all of the snakepeople that I had started earlier in the week. Still, I never got around to priming and painting the additional snakepeople that were released as part of the Beasts and Baddies Vol 2 collection. Those will have to wait.

A Yuan-Ti patrol in their swamp home.

The Yuan-Ti Matron and her most loyal servants and pet.

A deep one charges for an attack against an invader!

Here is an extra model that I got done. It didn’t have a lot of different colors so I was able to plow through him in a single painting session. I like the pose and the model is nicely detailed.

A ghost haunts the abandoned ruins.

I like the model but the paint job isn’t quite what I wanted. I went with Pastel Seafoam spped paint then dry brushed it with white. I does have a ghostly appearance but I thoguht the colors would stand out a little more. I will have to work on a ghost color palette that I like.

I was also able to print out and paint more HeroQuest style doors that I will place on my Etsy store. Since I was born in May, I am running a 50% off sale to get the items out of the conatiners in my office and onto someone’s game table. Feel free to stop over and give it a quick look: https://www.etsy.com/shop/DMDavidsPrints

I was hoping to get a video editted this wekend but I got called into work at my 2nd job (Saturdays are my only complete day off from both jobs). That’s ok, because luckily I wasn’t called into jury duty this week. Let’s hope next week is the same.

Keep on gaming!

  1. Just a thought on the Ghost. Prime white, green ink wash, then the speed paint and finally a white drybrush. I’m thinking that might bring out some of the details while keeping the spectral look.
