Superhero Saturday

Welcome back to the second installment of Superhero Saturday. Let’s get started.

For archetype we Roll 4 = Elemental. The Elemental is a being composed of a pure element, usually one of the classical four elements of earth, air, fire, or water. They have powers reflecting their elemental composition, as well as control and mastery over the element.

Under abilities we Roll 7 = Embodiment. You are a sentient incarnation of an
elemental force. We put the ability scores into the character sheet. That puts us at 34/150PP.

For the Advantages section, we select Power Attack for the list then Roll 1 = Imposing: Your form is fearsome and impressive. We get Daze (Intimidation) and Startle. That puts us at 37/150PP. Still have a ways to go.

Next is the skills section. We get some automatic skills then there are a few choices. We settle on: Ranged Combat: Element Control 8, Acrobatics 4, Intimidation 8 plus we as an Embodiment we get Native: You are well-versed in or have researched the properties of your element. That gives us Expertise: Elements 8 and Perception 4. We reach 53/150PP. 1/3 of all PP used and we still don’t know what element we are. All we know if that this hero is intimidating.

Under the Powers Section, we get some automatic powers (Immunity to critical hits and life support) then we Roll 2 = Air Elemental: You have a body formed from the air or are a wind entity. COOL! Looks like we are going to be a wind spirit that is fighting for good. We get a bunch of automatic powers: Gaseous Form: Visual Concealment 4, Partial; Insubstantial 2, Permanent and Swiftness: Enhanced Defenses 20 (Dodge 10, Parry 10); Flight 7 (250 MPH). That’s 113/150PP and we still get more powers. We get an array of Air Control powers: Air Blast, Wind Screen, and Wind Control. That’s 135/150PP used. Just 15PP to go!

Finally, we get to defenses. The hero gets (+1 Dodge, +8 Fort, +6 Will) for a 150/150PP hero.

For her complications, we add Power Loss and Quirk. Aeres needs air for her powers to work. If she is in space or at very high altitudes, she will lose her abilities. For the quirk, we will say Aeres has a hard time understanding human emotions and she always has the habit of mimicking the movements of people around her since having a body is unnatural to her.

I think I am going to go with another female character. I like the idea of Negative Man, but instead of the “being” inhabiting a person, Aeres fills up a suit of clothes when she is not actively fighting. Since she is insubstanial permanently, she has no effective strength. She actually has to use her Wind Control to make the clothes move. Since her powers are not subtle, she is constantly giving off some fog (mist) while in the suit. He is a concept that I wiped up on City of Heroes Character Creator.

Keep on gaming!
