From Printer to Paint: This Week’s Projects

02/24/2026

Happy Tuesday, and welcome back to Tabletop Thoughts!

This week is light for hours at the 2nd job, so I am looking forward to getting some items completed and off the crafting table. With a lighter schedule at my second job this week, I’m planning to make real progress on several projects that have been waiting on the crafting table. I’m looking forward to finishing a few lingering builds, organizing my workspace, and turning a backlog of ideas into completed pieces.

First up are these Underdark scatter terrain pieces, perfect for adding depth and texture to cavern encounters. I’ve been filming the process because I’m incorporating some unusual materials into the build, and I wanted to capture how they transform from raw components into something table-ready.

I’ve got another set of Elementals almost across the finish line. A little detail work to tighten things up, a solid clear coat to seal everything in, and they’ll be fully ready to unleash—this time heading straight into stock for the Etsy store once they’re done.

I’ve got a pair of chimeras and a wyvern looming over the workspace right now. I’m thinking of giving them a full paint treatment and turning them loose on eBay once they’re finished—big, dramatic centerpiece monsters deserve a proper stage.

I just got this Orcus model off the printer and fully assembled, and he’s every bit as menacing as you’d hope. I’m planning a sharp, efficient paint job and then he’ll be headed to eBay. Since I already have a Shrine of Orcus listed, this feels like the perfect chance to offer a complete unholy set.

Brite Minis just released their Hydra, and I couldn’t resist printing one. It’s a strong sculpt, though I’m not entirely sold on the seven heads—it feels a little crowded, which could make painting more of a challenge. I’m planning to print another and try a paint-then-assemble approach to see if that opens things up and makes the details easier to reach.

Keep on gaming!
