Happy Sunday, and welcome back to Tabletop Thoughts!
This week didn’t go quite as planned. I had a call-off at my second job, which swooped in and stole the Saturday afternoon I had proudly reserved for crafting. So progress was a little lighter than I hoped—but hey, that’s how the adventure goes sometimes.

A pair of Dwarves guard the Kingdom doorway.
This week, I printed and painted a set of dwarven statues and a monument, all from Ill Gotten Games. I actually stumbled across the files while digging through some old STL folders on my computer—apparently, I downloaded them ages ago and never gave them a proper print run. So this felt like the perfect time to try them out.
I printed everything on my Elegoo Neptune 3 Pro using black filament, which meant no priming was needed. A quick white drybrush, a coat of my homemade black wash, and a final spray of matte clearcoat brought them to life. Simple steps, but they turned out great. I even ran two full sets—four statues and two monuments—and completed all of them.
I almost wrapped up a batch of trees, too, but my limited time got away from me before I could finish them. They’ll definitely make it into next week’s update.
Even though this week was a little quieter, I’ve been thinking about a fun idea for next year: tracking every miniature and model I finish in 2026. Starting January 1st, I plan to keep a running total of everything I complete—painted miniatures, terrain pieces, printed builds, and little side projects —all of it.
I think it’ll be a great way to stay motivated, see the progress add up, and maybe even look back next December and say, “Wow, I actually finished more than I thought!”
I’m excited to see how this little experiment plays out. I’ve never tracked my yearly output before, and I think it’ll be fun to watch the number grow as the months roll on. Maybe it’ll even give me that extra nudge on weeks when life gets busy. Either way, 2026 is shaping up to be a solid year for hobby progress—and I can’t wait to bring you along for the ride.
Keep on gaming!
