Reducing my Pile of Shame: Tabletop Project Updates

11/24/2024

Happy Sunday and welcome back to Tabletop Thoughts. It has been a busy week around here so let’s see what was completed this week.

I printed and painted a bone throne from EC3D designs. A lot of mute colors on here. It looks a little better in real life. The model was primed black, got a SlapChop highlight with white then painted gray, ivory, and a little brown.

I finished up a cyberpunk model I 3D printed in resin and a wizard apprentice that is actually metal. Both of them received the SlapChop speed paint treatment.

I’ve had that apprentice for years and finally got him out of the pile of shame. He would really be nice for a Frostgrave table. I have the Frostgrave book and plenty of fantasy models. I might have to bust it out over the holidays and give it a spin.

I have been printing cyberpunk models for the past week getting ready for Neon Skies from Wyloch. I already have the pdf and I’m just waiting for the physical book to ship. I still have to finish painting the hacking tower plus I need to build the street chase terrain.

I finished this “griffon” model from Massive Darkness 2. It got a quick paint job (SlapChop Speed Paints) and is now out of the pile of shame.

Here is a hippogriff model from The Printing Goes Ever On (Heart of the Forest Series). I gave it a simple white and brown paint scheme with a little yellow and called it done. Another model is off the table.

I was able to print out 6 more Alexander models for my friend’s chess set. When I give these to him on Monday, we must count what is left to print. Getting close to the end of that project.

I also got more work done on the ancient red dragon that I have been working on for months. The base felt a little weak so I printed another and glued it to the bottom of the first. That feels a little more stable. Now, I must decide what I want to do with the base. Rocks? Grass? If you have any suggestions, please let me a comment. I should have some extra time with the Thanksgiving holiday coming up. It would be nice to get this model finally completed and on the display shelf.

Keep on gaming!
