Today we look at making another character for the Sentinel Comics RPG.
We start off with 2D10 to select a background. We roll a 3 and a 6. That gives us the choices of Struggling (3), Law Enforcement (6), and Performer (9). Since Olympian was a performer, we go with Struggling. We get 1D8 and 2D6 to assign to qualities. We take Criminal Underworld Info (d6), Fitness (d6), and Close Combat (d10). We also get to choose a Responsibility principle and we choose the Principle of the Everyman. We mark all of those on the character sheet then roll our dice to our Power Source.
Concept: We will go with a male this time and say he was a young man struggling in his neighborhood. It looks like he got involved in some criminal activities (gang) where he learned to fight. Maybe he was playing sports (football?) and had to quit when he got in trouble/dropped out to help his family.
We roll 4, 5, and 7. That gives us Experimentation (4), Mystical (5), Relic (7), Radiation (9), Supernatural (11), and Artificial Being (12). I like experimentation so we place our dice into Strength (d8), Momentum (d8), and Speed (d6). We get two Yellow powers and we take Misdirection [Speed] and Throw Minion [Strength]. We also get a Green power and we take Unflagging. We get 3d8 for archetype selection.
Concept: It looks like our hero was the subject of experimentation. Maybe he did it as part of the gang, to give him some cred or to give him the power to help his family.
We roll a 1, 2, and 7. That gives us Speedster (1), Shadow (2), Physical Powerhouse (3), Armored (7), Flyer (8), and Elemental Manipulator (9). We like Powerhouse and Armored but go with Armored in the end. We choose the powers of Vitality (d8), Leaping (d8), and quality Imposing (d8). We get an Expertise Principle and take the Principle of the Indestructible. We get the Green power of Armored, then we take [Unstoppable Charge [Leaping], Repair [Vitality], and Deflect. We get 2d10 for personality.
Concept: Our hero is turning out like a Luke Cage clone, which is fine with me.
We roll 3 and 6 so we have the options of Impulsive (3), Distant (6), and Inquisitive (9). Impulsive fits our hero better so we get status die of Green d6, Yellow d6, and Red d8. We take the life quality of Ghetto Life d8 and we bump our Strength to d10. We mark down our Out power then move onto choosing our 2 Red abilities.
For Red abilities, we choose Major Regeneration [Vitality] and Takedown [Leaping]. For the Retcon, we bump his Red status de to d10. His Health is 36.
For his finishing touches, we fill out the rest of the character sheet, give him a good hero name (Linebacker), and look for a good image on the internet. Of course, we choose a Luke Cage image…

Keep on gaming!
