This week’s Who’s That will be using the Twilight 2000 4E from Free League to make a character.
We need to start with a young person at 18 with a CUF (Cool Under Fire) of D. We choose American as a nationality.
We set our Starting stats to C and roll 2D3 and get a 3. We get 3 stat increases so we end at STR B, AGL B, INT C, and EMP B. For childhood, we roll Affluence and choose the Mobility skill and Musician Specialty.
Looking at this, we need to come up with some backstory and decide what we are going to choose for a career for the first term. We have a young man named Brandis Slywood that comes from a good family. He was in the school band and was on the track and field team. He was the youngest child and did ok in school but he is going to join the military after graduating high school. (Maybe his older siblings went to college and Brandis is looking to do something different).
First Term: Brandis starts his Army career in Combat Arms as a Private. He gains the Ranged Combat (D) and Recon (D) skills. He rolls for promotion but fails and stays a Private. Since this is the first term, no rolls are needed for war breaking out or ability loss from age. We roll a 1 for aging and Brandis is now 19.
Second Term: Brandis goes into Special Operations. He is promoted to Sergeant and selects Ranged Combat and Recon for his skills. Both of these are now C. Brandis rolls and receives a promotion to Staff Sergeant. He rolls and gets Sniper as a Specialty and his CUF raises to C. We roll and there is no war and no effect from age. We roll for years and Brandis is now 22.
Third Term: Brandis stays in Special Operations. He selects Ranged Combat and Mobility for skills. He does not receive a promotion. We roll and War breaks out next term and Brandis loses a level in one ability from age. His STR goes from B to C. Brandis is now 27 years old.
Fourth Term (WAR): Brandis chooses Survival (D) and Stamina (D) as his skills (He might need them). For his Specialty, he rolls Ranger. His Hit and stress capacities are both 4.
For moral code, we take “Make the world a better place” and his Big Dream is to “Return Home”.
Since he is alone, I can skip the part where you figure out how you met the rest of the group (maybe Brandis was scouting a sniper position when the rest of his platoon was wiped out).
We select equipment from the list for his career and add the rations/water. We find a picture on the internet that fits our concept and we are done. Not too bad for a game that I haven’t played. Doing this makes me want to do a one-shot of the game just to see how the mechanics of the game play out.

Keep on gaming!
