Gaming Board made from an Art Canvas

08/24/2022

After watching a video on YouTube from a channel called Broken Terrain, I wanted to make a gaming board from an art canvas. I didn’t want anything as big as the video, just something small like the UDT terrain that Professor Dungeonmaster creates on his channel.

The canvas was 16″ x 20″ white canvas so I started by spray painting it black, While that was drying I made the foam stamp from some foam-core board.

Using a pewter gray, I stamp out the pattern on the board and use a white marker pen to do the edge marks. I use an Umber Brown for the dirt patches where the stamp didn’t leave a good stone pattern.

I think it looks pretty good for an afternoon project.

Here are a few shots of the game board with some UDT walls, a couple of doors, and some miniatures and scatter terrain from the one-shot I am finishing up. Enjoy!

While I like the look, I am probably still going to reach for my UDT terrain for the table. I might keep them for traveling to play games since this is a little more durable than foam.

Keep on gaming!
