Here’s what is in process at the moment on the paint table:
The displacer beast finally got a coat of nightsky blue (a purplish-blue) and a wash. I will touch up the base with black where I got paint then it is clear coat and done. I’ll get it put away before the tentacles get broken.
Wolverine joins the table. The flesh color and the white eyes look good but that yellow isn’t covering the way I would like. I have put 3 coats on over a grey primer but it doesn’t look right. I might have to try a different yellow (enamel?). After the yellow is done, I can go back and do the black parts (still just the grey primer).
The rest of the miniatures have been untouched since last week.
On the far right side is a cat outline cell phone holder. (It lays on its back to hold it up). I tried the “fuzzy skin” option in Cura to see what it looks like. It is different, just not sure if I like it or not.
I also have two other items on the table that I don’t want to show here yet (they are Christmas gifts for my daughter and her fiancee), just in case they see this post before Christmas. I have been working on them as well (they are 3D printed items that I have glues and painted).
If you have any suggestions on a better yellow that would do a better job on Wolverine, please leave a comment. I really don’t want to have to strip it and start over.
Keep on gaming!
