A very productive week here at Tabletop Thoughts. With Christmas coming and the extended weekend, I was able to get a lot of things done.

I was able to paint the elk and small-town boy from the Bones 5 Kickstarter as well as the soldier on the far right that was from the Russian miniatures that I get on eBay for very cheap. The three miniatures in the middle were prepainted Heroclix-like figures that I touched up and rebased. They will work well in my SciFi stuff.

I also 3D printed a dozen of these tree ornaments. I have been giving them out to family so they have them for their trees. They take about 6 hours a piece to print. (My printer really hasn’t stopped printing all week except when I did some maintenance on it for an hour).

One of my brothers likes dragons so I printed him up a pair of dragons.

For my other brother, I printed out this Batman bust. I am leaving it unpainted since the brother that likes dragons is a very good miniatures painter and he is going to paint it for him (if he wants it painted).

I did a couple Stitches. One of the guys I work with like the Stitch eyeglass holder I made for my daughter and said his daughter likes Stitch too. I will give him these to give to his daughter.

I printed out some clips that will hold cardstock to make a better photo backdrop for miniature pictures. I just need to watch some YouTube videos on lighting and my photo SHOULD be better looking in the near future. (Still have to teach myself Blender as well…)

Lastly, I printed and painted the Mandolorian. I think I am just going to put him on my desk at work. The model is one piece and supportless (base is extra) so that was nice. Mine came off the bed about halfway through the print. I was a little disappointed but then I had an idea (while sleeping). I measured the height that I had printed with my calipers then adjusted the model in my slicer so I only had to print the remainder. A little glue and he looks ok. (You can see the line near his belt where it was glued). It isn’t that noticeable from a couple of feet away so I primed/painted him in silver and printed out a black base. This model is awesome-looking. If I was playing in a Star Wars game, I would scale this down to 28mm and print it out as a character in a heartbeat.
Keep on gaming!
